Hello, my name is Gabriel Garcia. I am a designer, publisher, builder and creative thinker in Las Vegas with 20+ years of hands-on experience launching brands and campaigns across a wide range of platforms.
I started my career with a small agency, where I had the fortune of working with many national brands. That experience led me to venture off on my own, where I learned to grind, hustle, plan and problem solve. Nowadays, I can branch off in many directions. Creating a brand identity or transformation, building a communication or advertising strategy or planning a photoshoot that includes all the executional details. I take pleasure in inspiring our next creative leaders while kicking off a brainstorm session or talking about design over a cup of coffee.
For me, design means influence and simplicity, the power to improve, to inspire, to perform and have an impact. My time with MGM International taught me how Mohawk, Neenah and even Topkote can have influence on a customer’s decision. I was able to enhance their experience by considering function along with selecting the right materials and print finishes.
Leading a large team through passion, commitment and parking lot BBQ’s, I have refined many leadership skills and improved creative ideation and cross-function collaboration for a team of senior, graphic, motion, web and interactive designers, as well as copywriters and copyeditors.
I consider myself lucky, I get to do what I love.
My work has helped transform brands such as Caesars Palace, The LINQ Hotel, Flamingo, Harrah’s Resorts and The Cromwell. Working with chefs brings me the most joy. My first memorable experience was working with Michel Richard. His passion for sugar and his family changed my perspective on what it meant to own a restaurant and the importance we have in helping them build a successful restaurant. The logo, the visuals, the communication and marketing strategy are just as important as the decor, service and dishes they serve. My team and I have built brands for Giada, Gordon Ramsay, Guy Fieri, Guy Savor, Kerry Simon and Nobu Matsuhisa.
Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world and the work we created for Jennifer Lopez, Penn & Teller, Britney Spears and Legends glistened on the Strip. Our work can be seen on taxi tops, mobile billboards, building wraps, marquees and magazines. Your first encounter may be in baggage claim when you arrive in Vegas, Atlantic City or Dubai.
Join, the conversation, the community, the classroom or convention space. I was honored the first time I was asked to participate in a student portfolio review. The knowledge I passed, along with creative feedback was returned with valuable insight. Listening to their passion, drive and choices gave me an understanding of how to lead and where to seek new information.
Currently, I am the Community Vice President of ALPFA, the Association of Latino Professionals For America. Previously, I was a board member of VIA, a Caesars Entertainment Hispanic Business Resource Group that drives business outcomes, professional development of its members, social networking and strategic philanthropy with local organizations. I was also a board member of the Las Vegas Chapter of AIGA, the American Institute of Graphic Arts. Founded in 1914 as the largest professional membership organization for design.
I had the pleasure of guest speaking at The Art Institute of Las Vegas, College of Southern Nevada, UNLV and Las Vegas Valley High School. I’ve judged various art and design events including the CSN Bi-Annual Design Exhibition and Annual Portfolio Review presented by AIGA for graphic designers and artists.
I’ve assisted AAF American Advertising Federation’s 2018 Dead Work Awards and curated the ¡Americanx! exhibition for UNLV’s Fine Arts Annual Art Walk. I often consult for national television, media, production and lifestyle companies.
